Now here’s a nice combination of influences: The Bronx, Cro-Mags and Danzig. These guys from Belgium are called Jerusalem The Black and they play a rocking kind of hardcore with a very dark atmosphere.
Remember the depressive vibe on Life Of Agony’s ‘River Runs Red’? Well, Jerusalem The Black captured that same feeling in their lyrics. They deal with very dark subjects and most of them contain biblical stories, like the band name and record title suggests.
Some of the tracks, like ‘High On Fire’ and ‘Erase’ remind me of the direction Dutch band Said And Done is heading into. The song ‘Pale’ reminds me of Life Of Agony’s early stuff. The vocals in some of the tracks remind me a lot of John Joseph. - from asice.com
